Story of Bairavi, a full scholarship student at Cuddalore Isha Vidhya school
Bairavi's father works as a daily-wage earner. He is not able to get a regular job due to his health problem. There are 2 daughters and one son in their family. The house they live in is in a very shattered condition with a leaky roof and in a very unhygienic surrounding. Even giving one meal per day is a distant dream for Bairavi’s parents. Isha Vidhya team convinced the parents to admit their kids in the school after promising scholarship for the three kids.
When a medical camp happened in the school for the first time in February 2010, the doctor told that the child was under-nourished and also anemic. We started noon-meal scheme and we gave nutritious food for them. After a few years, we conducted the medical camp again, and this time, the doctors told that the girl has a normal weight and she is no longer anemic!
Now, Bairavi is in the tenth grade! She is a happy student and looking forward for her future. Bairavi’s parents are feeling very happy and they thanked Isha Vidhya for the education and the noon-meal provided to her, which has helped Bairavi in many ways.
Want to make such impact on a India rural child's life? A great way to do that is to start a recurring donation for a small amount. The link to start is:
