As the dry season in South Sudan comes to a close, the Water for South Sudan crews are still at work. Crews will keep drilling until the rains make it impossible to continue.
This year, like most, has not been without challenges, but this year, like most, our crews have found ways to meet the always challenging conditions in South Sudan. When our compressors were in need of repair, and unable to be used for drilling through rocky soil, our drilling manager chose sites whose soil was softer and we were still able to drill wells.
We know that each new well brings new life to a village. When the villagers, most often women and girls, no longer have to walk miles for water, more opportunities become available.
The new country of South Sudan continues to grow and develop. South Sudan will celebrate its second anniversary of independence this July. Water for South Sudan is proud to continue our work in the newest nation on earth. Thank you for for being a part of our success.
