Dear Friends of Water for South Sudan,
Our 2013 drilling season has begun! WFSS crews left our compound in Wau, South Sudan on Jan. 15. As of Jan. 27 they had already drilled 3 wells and were on their way to a 4th village.
WFSS only drills during the dry season, usually December until May. The rainy season gives us time to plan, prepare and repair equipment. Numerous repairs were needed this past fall, and difficulties in getting parts to South Sudan delayed our start of drilling.
Our goal for the 2013 drilling season is 40 wells. We drilled our first GlobalGiving well last season, and hope to raise enough funds for our second GlobalGiving well this season. Thanks to you, we have raised $8467 toward this well, leaving $6532 to go.
Thank you for being a part of our success in South Sudan. With your help, we can continue to help the people of South Sudan transform their lives. Each well brings fresh clean water to 1000 to 1500 people. Clean water brings so much-- markets can spring up, schools and clinics can be built. But most important of all-- a new future can begin to emerge.
Thank you for your support.
In gratitude,
Lynn Malooly
