Dear Friends,
Water for Sudan, Inc. has been drilling fresh water wells in South Sudan since 2005. Our mission has remained the same-- to transform the lives of the people of South Sudan by bringing them fresh, clean water.
In January, 2011 the people of South Sudan voted to separate from the Republic of Sudan and on July 9, 2011 the Republic of South Sudan was born. In August, 2011 our board of directors voted to change our name to WATER FOR SOUTH SUDAN, INC.
While our name has changed, our mission, and where we drill, has not. We are now preparing for the 2011-12 drilling season, and plan to drill at least 30 new wells.
Our board chair, Christopher Moore, is visiting South Sudan this November to help oversee the establishment of an office in Wau, in Western Bar el Ghazal State. We will soon hire an administrative support person to help manage the office, which will be adjacent to our new storage facility there. All things are in place for another successful drilling season.
Thank you for your support in helping us bring fresh clean water to the people in South Sudan, the newest nation on earth!
