Regular Practice is our Principle of Training!
Our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all our supporters for your classy and generous support; by sharing this report, we reassure you of our best efforts to solidify the victory we have to celebrate for changing the lives of the former child soldiers that we serve together.
Our most preferred training principle has been learning by doing and doing the actual work, commonly referred to as On-the-Job Training(OJT) where our project ensures that the instructors provide the means and the space through which the learners can carry out practical work on every significant aspect of the training content.
Terra Renaissance is able to see by evidence that this is being carried out and exposes the learners to the reality of the job situations and the practical skills required to be proficient by developing the mastery of the trade early on.
It's also an opportunity for the learners to be prepared to utilize the technical skills and technical terms taught in the classroom on the job and get the feel of the outcome by failing and correcting mistakes towards perfection, which is what the tough market demands from them in the near future.
In early January, our Students got an opportunity to be empowered to strengthen further their self-determination, resilience, management skills, decision-making skills, self-confidence, and skills proficiency in the job of Carpentry and Joinery as an entrepreneur with Noah’s Ark Multi Skills Vocational Training Centre for roofing construction of five classroom blocks.
Noah’s Ark is a private Institute founded by one of our former female trainees whose progress is worth celebrating. The Carpentry and Joinery Students, under the able guidance of their instructors, practically did the job, thereby gaining knowledge on roofing skills, albeit only one type of roofing design, which took them eight days to complete the roofing work.
The learning continues with the instructors engaging and introducing the learners to more advanced technical roofing designs, furniture construction, and roofing skills...the future looks bright for the former child soldiers, thanks to your sacrificial support!
