Food support for Kibera's after school Program

As the new year begins, we wanted to express our sincere gratitude for your support. Your generosity has made a tremendous impact on our organization and the communities we serve, we are deeply grateful for your partnership.

The high cost of living in Kenya has been a longstanding issue, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only made matters worse Many families in Kibera are still struggle to afford sufficient food for their children, leading to most of them depending on food support from schools,However, during the school breaks, children are left without this essential assistance, and this result in malnutrition, stunted growth, weakened immune systems, and a host of other health issues. It has also negative impact children's cognitive growth and academic results.

Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of these children, many of whom may not have had access to a nutritious meal otherwise. Your support has allowed us to nourish their minds and phisicality through our arts programs, and we are deeply grateful for your commitment towords our program. 

Through out the month of november and december 182 children have benefited with the food support and it has also given hope you our teanage mothers who help with the food preparetion. 

We hope that the new year brings you joy, health, and prosperity, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make a positive difference in Kibera 

My name is Lydia, I am 11 years old and in grade 5 at Olympic primary school in Kibera. I am a very good dancer, and this year I started learning to skateboard at Project Elimu.  

I am very grateful to the program as I am always sure of sharing a nice meal at the center during our dance and skateboarding activities every Saturday and during school holidays. 

My mother lost her job last year, where she was working as a clerk in an office in the city center. She now does house cleaning work, which is not a stable income.  I love my mother as she works hard to make sure we have all we need for school. At school we get lunch, but when we are not in school we don't cook, as my mother can only afford supper sometimes. 

I'm happy that during the school holidays I get to eat with my friends at Project Elimu, where the older girls cook for everyone and we eat together. I am also very grateful to Tr Mike as he always makes sure we all have food before dancing. I would love to invite you to our dance center if you are in Kibera. Thank you very much.

We at Project Elimu would like to express our gratitude for your continued support of our food support program. Since our last report, we have enrolled an average of six new children every weekend.

We were able to provide two meals for the children during our arts activities thanks to your generosity. They get Nutritious porridge at roughly 10 a.m., just after our warm-up activities, and a worm lunch by 1 p.m., just after our intensive dance activities.

Our students are encouraged to line up, and priority is given to younger and disabled children.

All of our food is prepared by the older students, who work in different groups to earn points that they can redeem for upkeep support for the teenage mothers, sanitary towels, or School stationeries.
