Beginning of Semester 2024
On January 20th, we kicked off the Spring 2024 semester!
The Transformation Group D prepared an activity where the scholarship recipients could share a fun moment and get to know each other, as this was the first official event with the new generation of students: 11 women aged between 15 and 46 years old who are joining the Comprehensive Scholarship Program.
We shared with them the upcoming events planned for this semester, and we also had a presentation from U-ERRE’s team about their postgraduate program, in which we have a partnership from which our graduates will benefit from!
Signing of Agreement with Talisis
We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Talisis, an agreement that includes U-ERRE, IESALUD, UNID, Advenio, and Harmon Hall. This not only maintains our commitment to the education of the women of our Programs but also provides our scholarship recipients with the opportunity to access scholarships in all Talisis educational institutions. We thank the U-ERRE team for facilitating this connection, and Talisis for joining our commitment to the education and empowerment of women!
yCo. Development Program
We participated in the 2023-2024 Improvement Cycle, an institutional strengthening experience that has provided us with valuable learnings and connections with other organizations, enabling us to reflect and implement new strategies.
The three modules we attended covered Fundraising, Intervention Model, and Leadership Skills Development the latter divided into three different segments in which our General Director represented us)
As part of the closing of the Leadership Skills Development module, we conducted a field visit to CasaNicolás, one of the organizations participating in this experience. There, directors from more than 25 organizations gathered to carry out an activity called "Learning Journey" applying a tool learned in the module.
Rounding up with MERCO
From January 26th to May 30th, nine MERCO stores are participating in a rounding up campaign benefiting our organization: García, Paraje San José, Pilares, Santa Catarina, Solidaridad, Nuevo Repueblo, Buenavista, Aramberri, Girasoles.
At the beginning of this campaign, our team visited and trained their staff on the work we do, instilling that collaborative spirit for the roundup. Additionally, the scholarship recipients have been very active in the campaign, visiting the stores to engage with customers and share their experience within our Program.
For those in Nuevo León, or visiting soon, we invite you to visit the participating stores and join this rounding up with your contribution!
Soriana Contributions Campaign
We also want to thank Soriana Foundation for the opportunity to be one of the beneficiary associations of their Contributions Campaign during the month of March.
At the beginning of last month, CORDEM’s team visited the 28 participating Soriana stores, all located in Coahuila. There, Management, leaders and supervisors conducted training sessions about our work for cashiers, managers, and supervisors.
The goal? To raise awareness among the staff about the importance of our work and the Contributions Campaign. We are excited to share the results achieved in this great campaign through the next report. Thank you for being part of our journey!
Synergy and Equity Workshop: Grupo PROMAX and Terra Regia
In commemoration of March 8th, and as part of our Learning Community program, our General Director held the workshop "Synergy and Equity: Transforming Corporate our Culture" for two allied companies: Grupo Promax and Terra Regia.
Through this workshop, we explored how synergy drives gender equity, discussing strategies to promote inclusive collaboration. At Terra Regia, we had the opportunity to conduct the workshop in person with a group of female employees, while at Grupo Promax, we reached virtually over 90 employees from across the country, and some from Colombia!
Participant Testimonials:
Navistar Visit
On March 8th, International Women's Day, Navistar invited us to visit their plant in Escobedo, where one of our graduates is part of the Human Resources department. That day, scholarship recipients and graduates were able to learn more about how this transportation company features profiles of women who have excelled in this field, and also recognize the desire that some companies have today to promote greater participation of women in all their areas and levels.
Throughout the day, the Navistar team provided a tour for our community where they learnt about their processes, as well as facilitating talks with female employees who shared their experiences and professional trajectories. Proudly among them was CORDEM’s graduate!
This encourages our scholarship recipients to visualize a future committed to gender equity, including industries that have historically had little female representation, but where many aspire to develop professionally.
Women's Week: Prepa TEC
This year, we were selected as the beneficiary organization of Prepa Tec's "Women's Week" initiative. Through this experience, the different high schools provided us with spaces to raise awareness and provide information about gender equality challenges, promoting personal growth for students and faculty across the 5 campuses.
Additionally, through a project that combined art with social commitment, students participated in a contest to design keychains inspired by our organization's work, selecting a final design that was sold for our charity.
As a closing, Belibet Andrade, our General Director, was invited to participate as a speaker on a panel on March 7th called "Inspiring Women Leaders of the Community", where she participated along with women who are making a difference from different areas such as academia, foundations, private sector, and government.
Youth is key to social transformation!, and being part of this experience was a great honor for us. Thank you Prepa Tec for opening your doors and hearts to CORDEM!
