We've now reached 100% of our funding goal for the midwifery training project.
The Indonesian government has created new regulations and standards for the national health system. The national accreditation process became more rigorous and three of our clinics have so far passed their inspection with perfect scores. The next change in requirements was that midwives have an extra year of training -- a fourth year -- to keep their license to practice up to date. This is because midwifery training now requires four years and previously only needed three -- this keeps the older midwives up to date with the new regulations and with updated knowledge and skills in their profession.
Nine of the 21 midwives working in our Bali and Lombok clinics need this extra year of training to re-qualify. Thanks to your generous donations, we now have reached the goal for our education fund and can send the last three midwives back to school for a year. This matters as it means we don't need to take the funds from our operating expenses yet will still be able to cover the cost of this extra educational requirement.
If you've set up a monthly donation to this project, we can roll it over to a general fund for Bumi Sehat or assign it to another project. Thank you for your continued support of Bumi Sehat.
Love and Blessings,
Ibu Robin and Team Bumi Sehat
