Provide School Supplies To 500 Kids In Myanmar!

PFK has begun our fundraising for our 2019 Mission Trip, and no better way to start than with a fun and engaging day of golf!!

We are thrilled to announce we are launching our first-ever PFK Charity Golf Classic in Yangon on Friday November 2, 2018! Our Golf Classic will be held at the beautiful Pun Hlaing Golf Club in Yangon, and we hope to attract 100 players to join us. Our PFK Myanmar Chapter Board is hard at work securing sponsors for this wonderful event, and spreading the good word for golfers to come and help support PFK and our wonderful children.

Player Fee is USD $150, with a Flight Fee of USD $600, which includes a lovely cocktail hour and dinner, and a fun evening with a Silent Auction and Raffle.

The monies raised from this fundraiser will directly support our 2019 Mission Trip serving over 500 children in the Yangon region with backpacks filled with school supplies and a school uniform.

Our presence and awareness of our mission and the amazing work we are doing, is growing in the community. We are confident that our charity golf event will engage new sponsors and bring forth a committed business community behind us to achieve our goals.

WIth the funds donated from this site and Pencils For Kids, Inc. annual Golf Tournament in LA, we are proud to say 500 Kids in Myanmar recieved their backpacks and school uniforms in April!

Along with 15 volunteers, we packed up the backpacks with school supplies that were donated by our partners here in the U.S., and those purchased in the local community of Yangon. In 2 hours we had stuffed and boxed up 500 backpacks for delivery in the Yangon province.

For the next two days, 10 volunteers in the PFK team delivered our gifts to the children. We visited 1 local community school in Bago, 3 orphan homes in Hmawbi, an orphan home in Yangon, and 2 monastic nunneries in Thanlyin. Each child recieved a backpack filled with school supplies and a new school uniform or monastic robes. The children also had their photo taken for this very special day!

The beginning of the monsoon rain began on  our final day, but that did not deter the PFK Team! The children recieving their gifts are our first priority!

We are thrilled to have met our goal for 2018....and now on to 2019!
