SevaChild continues to drill wells and install water pump systems in remote rural villages, where the villagers suffer from diseases contracted by utilizing contaminated water. This is a serious problem in states like Odisha and Jharkhand -- where villagers must make do with the pathogen-riddled water they can find in small streams and ponds. Their situation is dire and they are in desperate need of help.
At an incredibly low cost of $1700 to drill and install a water well system that will provide clean, safe, uncontaminated water for decades to come, this project has found great favor with our supporters. To date, we have completed the installation of wells and water systems in two leper colonies and 15 rural villages in Odisha, with seven more paid for and under construction this month (July, 2022) in Odisha and Jharkhand.
The need for potable water in these poverty-stricken villages is urgent, particularly during these challenging pandemic times when it is critical for the populace to do everything possible to prevent illness. Please support these villagers who need your assistance. Every dollar you give brings us closer to building the next system.
Dedication Wells - 13 of the 15 wells completed in Odisha, and six of the seven wells presently under construction, were paid for by individuals who dedicated the wells to a lost loved one. If you would like to dedicate a well in memory of someone, please contact our office manager at lpiner@sevachild.org. She will be happy to explain the details.
