The year 2023-2024 is a year of new possibilities , and it also marks the 35th year of RASA - Ramana Sunritya Aalaya ,
New lesson plans were framed for the students on the four developmental goals
1. language and communication
2. environmental awareness
3. applied maths and
4. General awareness
apart from this - performance training was also given to the students to understand
1. entries of their character
2. dialogue delivery
3. exits
4. positioning
5. and listening to music cues
these aspects of training helps them in real life situations to understand time and place sensitivity , vocalisation , and the like .
The trainees of our Diploma course in Theatre Arts for Holistic Development also trained the students for a dance project . This was a learning experience for them.
apart from this yoga classes were taken for body mind soul unision.
from January 2024 - the entire organisation concentrated on the RASA Day 2024 - where many special schools come together to perform for a large audience .
this show happened on February 21st 2024 - it was backed up with stunning visuals , enchanting music and vibrant properties and costumes .
This year - The Theme was Bharatambe
The event featured 240 performers, including children, young adults, and individuals with differing abilities from Seven Special Education school and RASA’s own Life Skills training centres .
"Bharatambe!" offers a journey through India's national symbols, interwoven with stories of revered saints like Neem Karoli Baba, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, Guru Nanak, Padmapadacharya , Swami Narayanan, and others. Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, also the composer, has crafted a rich musical score to accompany the performances.
The Narada Gana Sabha stage came alive with a harmonious blend of beautiful music, vibrant multimedia visuals, meticulously crafted properties, and sets, providing a sensory experience that enhances the Heartful intersection of art, culture, and inclusivity.
"Bharatambe!" aims to celebrate diversity, talent, and India's cultural richness, emphasizing unity through the arts.
This year we hope to increase awareness - and plan many more activities for our students as it is a land mark year
