Report November

By Ana Vieru | project manager

Warm greetings!

We have continued the psychological counseling programs, social assistance services as well as emotional self-regulation workshops for the 46 children from Gistesti and Muncelul de Sus localities, whose parents are working abroad. Also, the personal development activities for parents from the rural environment, from the villages of Hlince, Dumbrava and Lunca Cetatuii, are carried out weekly with 30 parents.

The activities in the sensory rooms with the children from the rural environment had a great educational and emotional impact on them, being a real joy to participate in these activities.

In parallel, we offered emergency material support to the families of Ukrainian refugees in our city and carried out psycho-educational activities with 47 orphaned children, Ukrainian refugees, in a foster care in Iasi. In the two sensory room, the psychologists and the volunteers of the Streetaware Association, carried out socio-cognitive development activities for Ukrainian children. Also, we organized a special event for Ukrainian children from the Bucium Social Services Center. 48 children aged between 2-18, together with psychologists, social assistances from Streetaware Association, Ukrainian companions and volunteers, participated in leisure activities in a location in nature near Ciric Lake. Children's activities included a puppet show, making balloon figures, t-shirt painting and various games. During this event, the children dined in nature and had as dessert a cake drawn with the flag of Ukraine and the children's names.

The Streetaware association made available 2 psychologists and a translator to carry out emotion self-regulation sessions. A minimum of 20 children (8-18 years old) benefited from the participation in self-regulation of emotions workshops.

In the refugee centers are children and families who have requested social assistance services. For these reasons, the activity of our association was not limited to the 48 orphaned children from Ukraine, located in a placement center in Iasi, who receive full support services. Based on the requests, the Streetaware Association provided help to the E-gros Refugee Center by donating pharmaceutical products, personal care products: soaps, shower gels, toothbrushes, toothpaste.

Through the involvement of volunteers, children's clothes were collected and donated to the Bucium Social Services Center.

Also, the Streetaware Association has identified an urgent need for medical services and medicines. In this sense, we donated, based on the requests, medicines for 6 Ukrainian beneficiaries. One of these persons benefited from an ophthalmological consultation and glasses according to the result of the consultation.

Thank you so much for donating to our project!
