As the effects of climate change grow more severe, communities across Afghanistan are already feeling the impact—from water scarcity to harsher weather and environmental degradation. In response, the Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) and our partners are supporting local efforts to promote environmental awareness and build more sustainable, eco-friendly communities.
Through education, community workshops, and model projects, we are encouraging Afghans—especially women and youth—to engage in climate-smart practices such as tree planting, recycling, sustainable construction, and clean energy solutions. These efforts not only protect the environment but also support healthier, more resilient communities for generations to come.
In cities like Herat and Kabul, we are seeing increased interest in eco-conscious building methods, water conservation, and green spaces—driven by the community’s desire to protect their homeland and their future.
