Starting Young Towards Success

Lekshmi is currently studying in
Grade 12 at Isha Vidhya Nagercoil.
She's preparing for writing her
UPSC India exams. Lekshmi is
motivated by IAS officers who
started their services at an young
age, and wants to emulate them.
Besides being a school leader,
Lekshmi was a topper in Grade10
scoring 94%, and received prizes
from the District Collector and the
Daily Thanthi newspaper!
Lekshmi, who is an orphan, says
excelling in academics is the only
option available to her and finds
practicing Yoga every day at school
relaxing.
This multi-talented student has won
prizes at a national level drawing
competition, in discus throw,
throwball, kho kho, essay writing,
and an elocution competition at the
district level.
Lekshmi plans to study geography
in her Undergraduate program, as
it will be useful in preparing for her
UPSC exams. Once she becomes
an IAS officer, she hopes to achieve
recognition through her work.
We need lots of young people like
Lekshmi who can take up administrative
services roles in India, to help govern
the districts and societies. We are
extremely happy that there are many
students from Isha Vidhya, who would
like to take up IAS !

My Nation Is My Career: An Alumna's Sharing

My Nation Is My Career
Keertigha is passionate about serving
the nation and wants to do so by
becoming an IAS officer. She already
has an agenda of the improvements
she wants to implement – from
improving education in rural government
schools, to addressing unemployment
in youth to helping farmers... the list
goes on.
Keertigha's leadership qualities were
recognized and honed at her school,
Isha Vidhya Villupuram, where she
became the school leader for a year.
She was also a school topper, having
scored 98% in Grade 10 and 86% in
Grade 12, and is currently pursuing
her Bachelors in Science in Clinical
Nutrition at Bharathidasan Government
College for Women in Pondicherry.
Keertigha says her curiosity to explore
new subjects makes her strive to do
well in studies and that her teachers
at Isha Vidhya were great mentors,
motivators, and inspiration role models.
Even now, after having passed out,
Isha Vidhya continues to play a
significant role in helping her realize
her ambition, and Keertigha hopes to
give back to society through her work.

On a mission to eradicate poverty, empower women

Kavina shares that by becoming
an IAS (Indian Administrative
Service) officer she can serve
different kinds of people, especially
the poor, and the women.
Kavina joined Isha Vidhya Coimbatore
in Upper Kindergarten on sponsorship,
and did well academically throughout
her 13 years of education, scoring 97%
in Grade 10 public examination, and
80% in Grade 12 public examination.
As a school topper, she is keen on
doing well in studies as she feels that
it’s the best way to grow herself, improve
her family's situation, as well as
contribute to the society.
Kavina is currently pursuing Bachelors
in Science in her favorite subject
Mathematics at Sri Krishna Arts and
Science College, Coimbatore. She
attributes her sense of discipline and
her desire to become an IAS officer
to her very motivating teachers. She
feels that Isha Vidhya hones students'
talents, and that helped her to blossom.
She's grateful for the support from

that continues to play a vital role in
helping her achieve her goal of
becoming an IAS officer.
