We are continuing different configurations to the office in Boracay due to Corona and our partners challenges with online teaching.
Meanwhile we have opened the office in Manila and have transported laptops to a local orphanage in Las Pinas, Manila near our office.
Online teaching will commence as we seek to build an IT on Wheels bus in order to have a mobile classroom to take the teaching of tech into the provinces.
The homes in the Philippines have a vast number of children who are in need of connectivity in this information society. Of a country of over 100,000,000 and growing there are just as many Facebook accounts showing that they are very much keen to stay connected and be part of the Digital Citizenship training we provide.
Many children in the homes we support are half Filipino by birth and we feel this project will help empower them to feel "double" by teaching Japanese language and culture online to our students in this Collaboratory.
Thank you for your support,
