WAFA launches the World Water Day 2021 project to celebrate water and raise awareness of the global water crisis. One of WAFAs main targets is to light and award low-tech, high-impact, local innovations for clean water. By donating you participate in finding, recognizing, giving exposure, and motivating them to scale and replicate their water cleaning solutions wherever needed.
Clean water should be undeniable human rights. The reality is drastically different: 844 million don't have access to clean water. Without clean, easily accessible water, families and communities are locked in poverty for generations.
Solutions to the global problems are out there. Around the world, outstanding people develop projects that secure clean water for communities in need. Securing water for all can be achieved by replicating and scaling these projects. WAFA works to identify, certify and celebrate such sustainable projects in the yearly WAF Awards Ceremony, to give them the visibility they need to achieve greater impact. These are the winner projects: wafaward.org/winners
Sustainable water, air, and food security projects gain global visibility, which attracts support and funding for continuing and expanding their work. Visibility of these local projects inspires replication: the solutions can be applied to solve similar problems in other parts of the world, meaning more people will have access to water, clean air, and food.
