Hello Donors!
We are now over one year into response and recovery work in the USVI, where extensive damage was caused by Hurricanes Irma and Maria particularly to the Islands of St. Thomas and St. John. There are some noteworthy changes related to our work here that we are excited to share with you, the generous supporters of GlobalGiving!
Our response program currently operating in St. John (Barranquitas and Toa Baja specifically), will likely wrap up at the end of December as the community need for response work continues to decline. Recovery will continue for the time being, as our teams work hard to assist those that are still reeling after the back-to-back storms. Our teams here have made an amazing impact, completing work on 254 homes to date. With the help of 356 volunteers logging 7,453 days of work, 905 people have benefitted from the work All Hands and Hearts is doing in St. John! We are so grateful to the GlobalGiving community for helping us continue this meaningful work.
Work in St. Thomas is also running smoothly, as AHAH volunteers and staff continue response and recovery work both on homes and schools. Similarly impactful, teams in St. Thomas have completed work on 534 homes since the program began! Work on a fifth school in St. Thomas is underway, helping another wonderful group of kids return to a safe and comfortable learning space. With the help of 1,024 volunteers logging 2,1084 days of work, 6,284 people have benefitted from the work All Hands and Hearts is doing in St. Thomas! We are committed to remaining in the USVI until the end of March, 2019, and this is only made possible because of our passionate supporters like you!
We are so excited to see what our teams accomplish over the next few months in St. Thomas and St. John. For more updates, please continue to follow our work on GlobalGiving! We are so grateful for your continued support of these crucial efforts.
From all of us here at All Hands and Hearts, Thank you!
