Hi, we are U9Change, an international NPO volunteer organization dedicated to meeting children around the world who are suffering from poverty and inequality, and helping treat diseases. We would like to share the latest news from Mongolia.
Many households in Mongolia face harsh winters and rely on traditional heating methods such as stoves. Due to the lack of safety measures to prevent children from getting too close to these stoves, burns are a common issue.
On August 23, 2024, our medical team conducted surgeries at the National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center in Mongolia to assist young burn patients. The first child was a 4-year-old boy whose hands were severely contracted due to burns. The second child was a 10-year-old girl with a burned hand that had become stiff. Both children underwent hand-straightening surgeries, which lasted about 8 hours and were successfully completed.
Post-surgery care, including dressing and rehabilitation, will be provided in collaboration with National Trauma and Orthopedic Research Center. We remain committed to supporting these children in their recovery and improving their quality of life.
We continue to work towards a brighter future for burn-affected children in Mongolia. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors whose support has made this possible. We look forward to sharing more positive updates with you in the future.
Thank you.
