This year we celebrate our 10 year anniversary. Looking back it is incredible to think that we started with just four aspiring young musicians in our orchestra. Today approximately 400 children from our local community take part in our free programme, which runs 6 days a week providing 175 hours of tuition a week during term time.
Alongside this we run the national Instrument Donation Bank, with 109 donated instruments put into the hands of those who need them most in 2022.
And in October we delivered our first Young Leaders Programme – a residential orchestral camp for able young musicians from across England. Here 40 young musicians were able to learn from inspiring musicians and teachers, receive personalised coaching and leadership development, work together to build their own orchestra within just a few days and make new friends. They also had a chance to try out the zip wire!
None of this would have been possible without your belief and support. We can’t wait to share our vision for the next 10 years with you. Thank you for helping us to use music to change children’s lives for the better.
