Training 1,500 Women Entrepreneurs in Pakistan

Moqah Foundation and Afghanistan-Pakistan Women’s Economic Empowerment have entered in a MOU for the purpose of conducting two women’s entrepreneurship/enterprise development training workshops in Sirikot and Mohra Village, Pakistan.

Afghanistan-Pakistan Women's Economic Empowerment  is a 501(c)(3) organization  that provides relief and economic opportunities to women who are poor, distressed, and underprivileged along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border regardless of religion, political affiliation, race, or ethnicity. Afghanistan-Pakistan Women's Economic Empowerment works directly with civilians.

Primary Goal of Moqah Foundation is to improve women’s economic empowerment in poverty stricken areas and promote change of sociopolitical norms for greater gender equality and women’s rights with the following objectives: to improve economic stability and resiliency of families, month-to-month and in crisis, to increase the number of female role models and networks available to women in these regions, to increase girls’ participation in upper education and reduce early forced marriages and to decrease extreme poverty among participants.

Our orientation session brought the enthusiastic women in the communities together, looking forward to the upcoming trainings.

 Meanwhile, a survey was conducted by our team to gauge the impact of the training program on some of our trained women’s employment outcomes. It was heartening to see them running small school canteens, selling uniforms, catering, tiffin services and selling poultry from homes.
