Our women's economic empowerment program ensures the women understand it is a program for them and through the entire training we focus on developing their voice and power to run their own business and understand how to negotiate situations within their cultural context
Moqah Foundation will be conducting two trainings in March 2022, preparing over 50 women in Enterprise Development to become entrepreneurs in their community and equipping them to accomplish their goals. One more training is planned in May 2022.
Since we expect to see stability in monthly household incomes among the trainees, increased decision making power, and diversification in who is earning an income in the household, keeping a budget and savings plan for their homes and their businesses, a survey was conducted by our team to gauge the impact of the training program on our trained women’s employment outcomes and aspirations, empowerment, household decision-making capacity. We found out that, the program had increased the chance of trained women engaging in income-generating activities, a result which is driven by an increase in self-employment, and setting up their own businesses. Some of the entrepreneurs were doing well financially, despite the challenges that they faced during the pandemic.
Thank you for empowering these women to live their successful lives!
