Your commitment in giving towards enhancing quality and affordable healthcare in Kilifi County has been commendable. Because of your generous contributions, we have attended to 19,000 patients this year, conducted 4,233 lab tests and 1,366 radiology examinations at the Mabati Medical Centre.
As we continue to strive towards improving the quality of life, we successfully organized a number of preventive healthcare campaigns in communities around Mariakani by offering free consultations and medicines. Over 300 patients from many needy families within the community were able to receive free medical services. The month of August was the breastfeeding awareness month. Our team took advantage of the opportunity to sensitize lactating mothers on the benefits of effective breastfeeding to promote infant wellness.
Because of your generous giving, we have expanded our services by introducing Ear Nose and Throat medical services to patients in Kilifi. The weekly ENT clinics started in September and so far, we have managed to offer two clinic sessions and seen 12 patients. Additionally in the month of September, we organized free nutritional advice to patients visiting our medical centre to create awareness on obesity and its effects on an individual’s health. This will help manage patients who are suffering from diabetes and other related illnesses brought about by excessive weight gain.
Finally, we are delighted to announce that the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders recognized the Mabati Medical Centre as an institution that has effectively implemented programs to eradicate Tuberculosis in Kenya. We wish to reaffirm our commitment to the eradication of TB by working closely with the government and other stakeholders to continue to reduce the rate of infection and improve the well-being of patients in Kenya.
We could not have done all this without your continuous support. We believe that together, a lot more can be done to improve the lives of many underserved and vulnerable households in Kenya.
