Project Report | Dec 7, 2020
Getting ready for the end of 2020

By Sarah Bergs | Project Leader

Learning learning and learning
Learning learning and learning

What a year its been! We are so grateful to be able to provide a safe space as children come back to the Nourish Creche when the government allowed pre-schools to open again.

In order to comply with Social distancing and to be COVID-safe in our limited space, we decided to only have our 13 graduates come back to school.  Our little children have missed many months of school, and this age is so important as they are learning to get ready for 'big school'. Armed with social distancing spacers, little hula hoops around the chairs and masks, we let the learning commence.

Our two teachers Tinyiko and Bridget have been amazing, helping the children learn their alphabet and adjust to the new norm. The teachers have tried to make learning fun with lots of songs and games and we are so fortunate to be in early childhood development with these wonderful ladies.

We have been able to support our other children at home with food parcels and continued gifts of resources so that they can keep developing and still feel like part of our extended family. So thank you to each and every person who has made this possible, you have also enabled us to keep providing healthy food to our children daily, and to contribute to our teachers who are there to help the children with their work, cooking their meals and helping them prepare for graduation.

As they say...its takes a village (to raise a child), so thank YOU for being our village!

Our Graduation will be on the 17th December so will share lots of photos on our social media and in the next report. Each child will get a school uniform as they graduate, and we wish all our special children luck on the next step of their educational journey.

Again, THANK YOU!
