On monday 17 October, Mr. Maele was hired by Abundance to go to Mbando village and train the Talandira Women's Cooperative to use the rice mill. The rice mill was successfully commissioned and we were delighted to see vidoes and photos of rice being milled this week.
The joy of the women were expressed through their song and dance - their dream has come true thanks to all your support. Thank you also to World Connect which gave the initial funding for this project. Please enjoy video of this milestone achievement of Abundance here: https://fb.watch/ghG25yjnMT/
The rice mill provides livelihoods to 16 women and their households. It will also provide rice husks as waste for our bioenergy project. Our next project is to build a kitchen for the Community Based Child Care Center. This kitchen will use rice husks as fuel to generate biosyngas to cook the mid day meal for the children. A tiny circular economy model being piloted at Mbando village. We hope you will continue to support Abundance as you have been doing in the past.
