In a recent STEM activity, youth were part of an exciting journey into the world of physics through hands-on gizmo building. Through guided by step-by-step instructions on building blocks, they explored the principles of simple machinery while constructing and experimenting with their gizmos.
Throughout the activity, participants discovered the mechanical advantages of various components such as gears, wheels, pulleys, and levers. By experimenting with their gizmos, they gained a practical understanding of how these parts work together to create an efficient machine.
Through actively engaging in the construction and testing of gizmos, youth discovered the practical applications of physics concepts in everyday life. By testing, evaluating, and rebuilding, they improved their problem-solving skills and sparked a sense of curiosity in them.
Overall, the gizmo-building activity provided youth with a fun and interactive platform to learn about physics in a hands-on manner. As they explored the world of simple machinery, they not only expanded their knowledge but also strengthened their passion for STEM which will continue to inspire them on their learning journey.
