Thank You for your continued support for teen girls in Morocco. Your support has been crucial to ensuring empowerment for Soar Girls !
Last summer Marwa, a 17 year old Soar Girl, attended the Girl Gearing Up annual leadership academy in Berlin ! Her first time abroad was filled with inspiring talks, meeting new friends and fun !
The week was filled with empowerment workshops, cultural activities, visits and outdoor activities. As the camp included teenage girls from all over the world, it was a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and empower each other by sharing insights on their lives and experiences. Marwa’s favorite activity was the ‘I Love myself” one, where at the end of the day a group of girls would make a circle and sing about what they love most about themselves.
Marwa is passionate about science and coding and is currently learning Chinese and German. As she tends to be very curious she says that she had an amazing time touring the Berlin Technical University and learning about prototyping. Time spent with mentors turned out to be especially inspiring as she learned about financial literacy.
Marwa shared that her biggest lesson from this inspiring trip as she learned from other experiences, is to never miss an opportunity.
