Summary

This project will install 100 solar-powered submersible water pumps in rural Pakistan, providing clean drinking water to over 50,000 people. By using renewable energy, the project ensures a sustainable and cost-effective water supply, reducing dependency on contaminated sources and preventing waterborne diseases. These pumps will improve health, save time for women and children, and support agriculture, fostering long-term economic and social development in vulnerable communitie

Challenge

In rural Pakistan, millions lack access to clean drinking water, forcing communities to rely on unsafe sources like stagnant ponds and contaminated wells. This leads to widespread waterborne diseases, particularly among children. Women and children walk miles daily to fetch water, losing valuable time for education and work. The absence of a sustainable water supply worsens poverty and food insecurity. Installing solar-powered submersible pumps will provide reliable, clean water.

Solution

This project will install solar-powered submersible water pumps in rural Pakistan, providing a sustainable and reliable source of clean drinking water. These pumps will significantly reduce the reliance on unsafe water sources, preventing waterborne diseases and improving overall community health. Women and children will no longer have to walk miles for water, allowing children to attend school regularly and women to focus on income-generating activities.

Long-Term Impact

The long-term impact of this project will be transformative for communities in rural Pakistan. By providing solar-powered submersible water pumps, we will ensure a consistent supply of clean drinking water, reducing the prevalence of waterborne diseases and improving overall public health. Children will have better school attendance as they no longer need to fetch water, while women will have more time for education and income-generating activities.
