1155 Fast-Tracking Education for Afghan Women and Girls

Learning to sew has changed many Afghan women’s lives. They earn money, provide for their families clothing needs and have gained self- esteem and respect of family, friends and neighbors. This is skill that keeps on providing women with reward for their efforts. In October, there were 817 sewing students in Herat and 298 in Kabul.  A student commented, "I love the sewing class and can now sew all types of clothing including making new clothes for Eid. This means a lot to me, I wanted new clothes for Eid. I can now make some money sewing for other people. "

Thank you for your continued interest.

AIL is working towards: SDG Goal 4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
