Lilipad Friends,
We hope you are all doing well and keeping healthy.
First and foremost, we would like to thank each one of you who donated and shared our end-of-the-year GlobalGiving Fundraising campaign. We reached our initial goal of 10,000 euros in just 11 days and managed to raise 13,320 euros overall. The campaign is still active; thus, it is not too late to contribute. Check the link here.
Some of you might not know but Lilipad had been entirely volunteer-run for the last 5 years. We’ve only hired our first 2 freelancers a couple of months ago. This means that we have always met our fundraising needs - with most of the team working full-time jobs elsewhere, there is only so much we could have done.
This is about to change in 2022. Lilipad has grown to the point of needing significantly more resources to reach our ambitious targets. Our mission is to provide a Lilipad library in all major refugee accommodations in Berlin, Germany. We want to grow exponentially in Casablanca. Morocco. We want to develop a more positive efficient COVID-19 response in Uganda and much more.
Since the beginning of the year, we have been busy designing, drafting, and revising our plan on how to utilize the funds from the fundraising campaign in the most fruitful way.
Most of the funds will be allocated to:
We are looking forward to sharing more details with our next quarterly update.
On a different note:
How can you support Lilipad’s community and its activities even further? There are a few ways to do so:
- Reach out if you have any ideas or you would like to volunteer at Lilipad
- Share our project on your social media channels once again
- Single donation on Lilipad’s GlobalGiving Project page
- Set-up a monthly donation on Lilipad’s GlobalGiving page
- Let us know if the company you work for or know of any that are willing to make a corporate/gift donation
Yours,
The Lilipad Team
