Self Employment leads to Self Reliance

1. Executive Summary

This report outlines the progress of the Self-Employment of Persons with Disabilities project, which aims to empower PWDs through self-employment opportunities, enabling them to achieve self-reliance and financial independence. During the reporting period, significant advancements were made in providing training, resources, and mentorship, directly impacting the lives of beneficiaries and fostering a culture of inclusion and empowerment.

2. Objectives of the Project

To equip PWDs with vocational and entrepreneurial skills.
To provide financial assistance or tools for starting small businesses.
To foster self-reliance and reduce economic dependency among PWDs.

3. Progress Overview

3.1. Training and Skill Development

Number of participants trained: 14
Skill areas covered: tailoring, handicrafts, IT services, small enterprise
Training duration: 3 months
Training locations: Karachi, Nawabshah, Pakistan

3.2. Business Start-Up Support

Number of beneficiaries provided with start-up grants or tools: 02
Types of businesses initiated:
- tailoring shops, Pushin Cart,
- Average income increase among beneficiaries: 30%

Families directly benefiting: 14
Increased community awareness about the potential of PWDs through 02 advocacy events.
