Dear Donors,
Thanks to a Mozambican IP registered technology, the clean cookstove solution liberates women from dependency from charcoal, reduce health hazard for their kids and deforestation, while producing natural fertilizer.
Tio Mario Gas stove is being promoted and made accessible to more people. Our colleagues are committed to doing a marketing campaign and raising awareness among Mozambican communities so that more people can understand the benefits bought by the gas stove to their lives. In the past weeks, our team has visited some informal markets in the surroundings of Maputo.
We still need your support. As the african proverb says: "If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far go together".
We will keep you posted on the marvelous outcomes from these actions.

Local women excited with Tio Mario stove
Marta is a 30 year old woman from Matalane, a village in Marracuene, Mozambique. Marta is a mother of four small children and a leader in her community. She always thrives to do better and more for the people in her village. Marta, like many women in rural Mozambique, is responsible for daily meals; from breakfast to supper. Marta sometimes struggled to provide her family with the most important meal of the day because she could not afford to buy coal.
She was also raised in such a way that nature and its conservation are very important matters. However, she still obliged to go and find wood in the foresty to be able to cook the meals for her family, an action that is not always possible. 'I can now use this stove to cook meals for my children and boil water so that they can take a bath and go to school clean and fed every morning. I want my children to grow up playing outside, picking fruits from the trees just like I did. For this I know we cannot keep burning coal and wood as the forestries are getting further away from our homes. We can just use waste. This changed my; I am very happy'. Thanks to 'projecto fogao' Marta can now provide her family with all the necessary meals without causing damages to the environment.
Marta and her family were not the only ones to benefit from this project. Due to the strong sense of community is Matalane and Marta's strong sense of leadership the project was extended to 18 more families. Marta was very happy to explain to her community how to assemble and use the stove. Projecto fogao was also implemented in Zimpeto, Mantimane and Maputo city where more than twenty families have benefited.

Last effort to reach our goal! Good news ahead

Dear Friend,
Thank you again for believing in this project. We are pleased to report you that thanks to your generous contribution we have almost reached our goal set at 7000 USD.
All the funds have been transferred to Limpa energy and the development of a credit scheme aimed at promoting a better distribution that we have been working for is taking shape and getting refined on a daily base.
We are confident that once the local communities fully recognize the long terms benefits of the Tio Mario cook stove in terms of environmental and health standards as well as costs, it will easily become part of their daily life and attract more interest.
We also had the great opportunity to exhibit the cooking stove at the FACIM, the main trade fair of Mozambique. This allowed us to have greater visibility and further raise awareness of the Tio Mario cook stove advantages.
We are looking forward to keep you updated on the next developments. Good news ahead!
