ANNUAL COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING FOR LIVELIHOODS

The immense value communities place on trees, particularly those with economic benefits is evident in our recent endeavors. In 2023, during our community tree planting initiative, we were astounded by the overwhelming interest from farmers, primarily women, who passionately requested trees for their farmlands. These lands, suffering from declining productivity due to erosion and unsustainable land practices, urgently required intervention. Despite resource limitations, we strategically mapped out planting areas, covering approximately 15 hectares across 10 households. However, our expectations were surpassed when we got to the community for distribution. Over 100 individuals expressed the need for additional trees to fortify soil resilience and livelihoods.

This 2024- June/July, our commitment to these communities remains relentless. We are determined to revisit and expand our intervention to ensure comprehensive coverage and foster inclusivity among all families.
