Project Report | Mar 16, 2021
Relief and rehabilitation of AMPHAN effected area

By Bibhuti Ranjan Mishra | Project Leader

During AMPHAN
During AMPHAN

I am going to submit report with apology for late submission. In fact the working area i.e. Sundarbans is facing severe network problem after hit by AMPHAN. Therefore to submit report one has to move to Kolkata or elsewhere with network connectivity.

However, after AMPHAN took place in the month of May 2020 while we were severely facing the challenge of COVID 19 our society working hard to recover from the twin points of a weapon that is AMPHAN & COVID 19. Immediately after the AMPHAN we started relief work, sanitization, area cleaning, supply of food and drinking water, distribution of building materials etc. Just after coping up the shock of AMPHAN started rehabilitation program like desalination of pond water, installation of tube well for safe drinking water, Skill development Training with employment for women etc.

Our organization also suffered severe damage due to AMPHAN. School building was totally collapsed. Training Hall and class room were collapsed. Learning materials, computers, audio visual unit etc were damaged. Side by side severe financial constraint was facing to overcome such a huge damage. In this situation we are unable to ensure normalcy till the date but trying sincerely to do whichever was best possible according to our capacity.

COVID 19 also is a problem till date thus we could not start normal business following the government’s instruction and students are getting touch in a small group to follow up their progress and home task. This is the report in a nut shell. Figures are stated below:-

  1. We covered more than 3500 (three thousand five hundred) family with relief and rehabilitation programme.
  2. Installed two tube wells for ensuring safe drinking water
  3. Renovated 75% of damaged accommodation of the organization.
  4. Going to start Khadi spinning mill to ensure employment for women as a part of the rehabilitation programme.
  5. 250 Students of the area are given full educational support with qualified staff. (This is a tough job as the area is running with no network connectivity and mobile phone with every guardians)

Therefore we are struggling hard with adverse situation getting enthusiasm from the well wishers, donors, members and community people. Thus once again pray for help from all concern with thanks to those stood by us during crucial time.
