By Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana | Project Leader
Dear Patrons,
We are deeply grateful to you and the GlobalGiving disaster response team for your unwavering support of the Relief for Families Affected by Flooding in Rwanda project. Your generosity has already made a meaningful impact, and we cannot thank you enough for standing with us in this critical time.
Today, we would like to provide an update on the project and share with you some of the challenges we have encountered. While we’ve made progress, we have not yet reached our goal of supporting the most vulnerable families who were severely affected by the May 2023 flooding.
So far, RWAYDAVO has been able to assist 43 families, reaching at least 295 individuals. However, our goal is to support 2,000 people, and we still have a long way to go. Alongside direct relief efforts, we are also working on long-term flood prevention measures, such as planting trees and vegetation to reduce water runoff and protect communities from future floods.
We are kindly asking for your continued support to help us reach our goal. Please consider making a generous donation, sharing our project with your friends and family, and spreading the word on social media. Your support will directly impact the lives of thousands who are struggling to rebuild after this disaster.
Additionally, you may want to consider setting up a monthly recurring donation to provide ongoing support for this critical work.
We sincerely thank you for everything you’ve already done. With your help, we can continue to provide essential aid and work toward a safer, more resilient future for these communities.
Thank you again for your generosity and support.
Warm regards,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
President, RWAYDAVO
