In Kamuli, Uganda, many disabled individuals struggle without mobility aids, this leaves them isolated and dependent. This project aims to provide 50 durable, custom-fitted wheelchairs to empower those with disabilities to access education, healthcare and community life. By improving mobility, we enable beneficiaries to lead dignified and independent lives. Many disabled people in Kamuli, Uganda do not have access to mobility aids such as wheelchairs, so they are confined to their homes and cannot participate in daily life. Without mobility, they struggle to access education, healthcare and income-generating activities, increasing their dependency and deepening poverty. This lack of integration exacerbates stigmatization and limits their ability to lead fulfilling lives. There is an urgent need for wheelchairs to restore dignity and independence.
This project will provide 50 custom-made and durable wheelchairs for people with disabilities in Kamuli, Uganda. By restoring mobility, beneficiaries will gain access to education, healthcare and community activities, enabling them to lead independent lives. We will also provide training on the use and maintenance of the wheelchairs to ensure their long-term functionality. Through improved mobility, this project will reduce dependency, improve quality of life and promote community integration.
The project will enable people with disabilities to lead productive lives. With improved mobility, beneficiaries will have access to education and its equal opportunities, healthcare and livelihoods which will break the cycle of poverty and dependency. The project also promotes inclusion by reducing stigma and raising awareness of the rights of people with disabilities. Over time, these efforts will promote a more equitable society where all people can contribute to their community.
