Project Summary
Disasters in Pakistan—such as floods, fires, and heatwaves—continue to disproportionately impact the most vulnerable, especially persons with disabilities, children, and women in rural areas. NDF Pakistan’s “Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency” aims to establish a readily available emergency fund through GlobalGiving to respond swiftly when disaster strikes.
This pooled fund supports rapid relief operations, distribution of emergency supplies, temporary shelters, and medical assistance for marginalized communities across Sindh.
Key Highlights
1. Pool Fund Mobilized
Through GlobalGiving donations, the pool fund reached USD $2,000 by April 2025
Local contributions (in-kind and cash) further strengthened emergency reserves
2. Heatwave Preparedness – Sanghar
In March 2025, pool funds were utilized to:
Distribute 120 water coolers and heat protection kits
Set up 4 community hydration points with accessible water tanks
Awareness sessions on heatstroke prevention for 300+ villagers
3. Capacity & Logistics Strengthened
Purchased emergency stock (tents, water filters, tarps) now stored at NDF warehouses
Updated NDF’s Rapid Response Protocol to ensure inclusive response in emergencies
