Dear Patrons,
We are immensely grateful for the support you have provided so far for our Rwanda forestation project. Your generosity is making a tangible impact on the future of Rwanda’s landscape.
We are excited to share the progress of our sapling planting activities for Land One. The trees were planted in December 2022 at the location Rwanda: 7299+2X5 (Google Plus code) in Taba Cell, Colline Mwite Village, Rulindo District, Burega Sector, Rwanda. A total of 8,000 saplings were planted across the land, with 90% being Eucalyptus, 8% Grevillea, and 2% indigenous trees. At the edge of Land Five, we also planted additional Grevillea trees.
We are pleased to report that these saplings have grown very well (please see attached photos). The trees are currently around 1.5 to 2 meters tall and are steadily reaching maturity. Their growth is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved, especially the community and local leaders who have supported this project from the start. Their enthusiasm has also led to a request for our help in reforesting old forests in the Rulindo District. We are now planning to expand our efforts by planting additional trees on 2 to 3 hectares of land in the area.
In addition to this, we’ve been working closely with students in the community, who have actively participated in tree planting activities. These events have been a source of great pride, and students are receiving educational sessions on sustainable forest management, ensuring they are equipped to care for the trees in the years to come.
Moving forward, we will need continued funding to maintain the saplings and ensure their successful growth. This includes ongoing care such as watering during dry seasons, pruning for proper tree health, and soil management. Mulching around the base of the trees will also be crucial to prevent soil compaction and ensure healthy root systems.
We kindly request that you consider making a generous contribution to help us maintain the success of this project. Monthly recurring donations are especially beneficial as they allow us to plan effectively for ongoing activities. The link for setting up a monthly recurring donation is provided below.
Thank you for your continued support and belief in this project. Together, we are making a lasting difference for the environment and the people of Rwanda.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Jean Damascene Uwizeyimana
