Hello donors!
Our Yapatera School rebuild is complete! All Hands and Hearts’ team on the ground was able to construct 8 new classrooms, 8 toilets, and a new kitchen. In addition to these buildings we also constructed 2 retaining wells to prevent landslides. Two fences were also constructed to surround the buildings and the two new playgrounds that were built for the community.
Almost 200 volunteers from 29 different nationalities came together to spend over 29,000 hours building the Yapatera school. These classrooms will benefit over 600 children over the next ten years, providing them with a safe and resilient learning environment.
We are incredibly appreciative of the support from the GlobalGiving community. Our work in Peru has come to a close, but we have more school rebuild programs going on throughout the world, impacting thousands of children recovering from disasters. Please check out our website to keep up to date with information.
Thank you!
