By Onkar Joshi | Institutional Development

Every Nation is in full combat of the dreaded COVID 19 today. Healthcare systems across the world are focused on preventing deaths and halt the spread of the corona virus adversely impacting the lives of millions. Whilst this Combat rages, a “Second Tragedy” has unfolded simultaneously. The tragedy of patients suffering from other life threatening illnesses needing urgent care. Congenital Heart Disease is the commonest birth defect amongst new borns in India, a grave calamity for the affected families. Precious Lives of children depended in this grim Covid 19 situation on Institutions as Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani in Nava Raipur, Chattisgarh, Palwal, Haryana and Kharghar Navi Mumbai Maharashtra, as Care and Cure here are Totally Free of Cost and most importantly whose doors were open. This became their only option.

Against heavy odds, Sanjeevani embarked on this daring journey to operate amidst Covid times. Just in a span of 45 days, we did over 250 urgeriess Totally free. This is when very few Hospitals in India are doing this work amidst COVID.

A labourer couple from Dibrugarh, Assam were determined not go back to Assam unless their little son was operated upon. He underwent successful repair of Tetralogy of Fallot and are back in their home state Assam, happy.

Little Mitansh , son of a fisherman from Alibaug, found his Life Gifted in Sanjeevani Navi Mumbai escaping the twin dangers of the recent Nisarga cyclone that hit the Mumbai coast and its Congenital heart disease.

We are truly gratefult to all our Clinical, non Clinical staff and our noble supporters like you who stood by us in these testing times to save little needy hearts!
