A Happy Place to Learn and Grow
"We love coming to Bamboo School because here, learning is fun!" – Aisha, Grade 2
This quarter, Bamboo School continued to blossom as a vibrant and safe learning space for children in the community. The joyful buzz of storytelling, laughter during math games, and the excitement of trying something new filled the air – even on rainy days!
Classrooms Full of Curiosity & Confidence
"I didn’t know I could do math like this! Now I can count how many plates we need for lunch!" – Danish, Grade 1
Our focus on play-based and hands-on learning is transforming how children think, speak, and solve problems. With support from our friends at LUMS, students engaged in math and literacy activities that relate to their everyday lives. Areej, a LUMS volunteer, conducted math sessions that helped identify learning gaps. In just a few weeks, students who struggled with counting were proudly solving addition problems!
The LUMS team is developing a custom toolkit to further enhance foundational skills in numeracy and literacy – and it’s already making a difference. Mahnoor, one of our passionate educators, shared that students are now eager to learn and even using math at home.
Learning that Sticks – and Smiles that Show It
"My favorite part is when Miss reads us stories and we act them out. I want to write my own book one day!" – Fatima, Grade 3
From neater handwriting to improved reading and comprehension, our learners are taking visible steps forward. Regular assessments have helped us celebrate these small victories and track each child’s journey. We prepared students for academic assessments at a nearby school, ensuring they continue to meet national learning benchmarks.
Thanks to your support, every day at Bamboo School feels like a new adventure in learning.
Digital Collaboration with LUMS: Bridging Learning Beyond Borders
Despite network challenges, our partnership with LUMS remained strong. Through video calls, group chats, and shared resources, we’ve kept the learning momentum going. The WhatsApp group connecting ALBBS, Bamboo School staff, and LUMS has become a dynamic learning hub.
Naveed from LUMS recently visited and engaged students in creative learning games, leaving behind not just knowledge, but lots of laughter.
Overcoming Challenges, Together
"When it rains, the ground gets muddy and slippery, and we can't run or play." – Bilal, Grade 2
While our classrooms are flourishing, the outdoor area becomes difficult to navigate during heavy rains. To ensure children can move safely and enjoy outdoor activities in all weather, the school has requested the installation of tough tiles in the play and entry areas. This small upgrade will go a long way in keeping their spirits – and shoes – clean and dry.
Eid Support: Sharing Joy and Stationery
As Eid draws near, ALBBS is sending notebooks and essential supplies to students, many of whom come from families who cannot afford school materials. Your support ensures that every child receives the tools they need to write, draw, and dream.
What’s Next?
Because of you, Bamboo School continues to grow into a place where children don’t just study – they thrive.
Thank you for standing with us in making education joyful, meaningful, and inclusive.
With gratitude,
The Bamboo School & ALBBS Team
