Thank you so much for your continued support of the Women's Housing Coalition.
This year has been a crazy one with the outbreak and spread of COVID-19. On top of that, we had a fire in one of our buildings in early June. Thankfully, no one was hurt and we were able to safely evacuate the building. But, the building did suffer some damage causing us to keep the building uninhabited while we made renovations. Luckily, we were able to not only fix what was damaged, but also make some improvements to the units and common spaces as well. Adding this financial burden to our already strained funding sources due to the pandemic, made this year even more difficult for WHC. However, with the help of people like you, we have been able to keep all of our residents safely housed throughout this tumultuous time.
We also had some exciting wins over the past few months. We have wired one of our four buildings with Wi-Fi capabilities so that children can engage in distance learning. We have received a donation of laptops and/or Chromebooks for every child in our program. We have been providing cleaning supplies and protective gear to all of our residents throughout the pandemic. We have also been able to provide residents with fresh produce boxes weekly.
Funding will help us continue this work and expand our capabilities as circumstances change during this pandemic. We are only able to do all of this with your generosity and we cannot thank you enough! We know this time has been difficult for everyone and we appreciate your continued support in our efforts to provide the service our residents deserve.
