We Keep Walking!

Xilotl Association for Social Development A.C. She is celebrating her first months of having started the path along the Crowdfunding path, as well as a couple of weeks being an active GlobalGiving partner. During this process the organization has reached different stages before reaching the goal:

• Until these days, we have reached hundreds of girls, boys and young people within the different communities we accompany, carrying out activities that strengthen their self-esteem, the sense of belonging, as well as promoting values, culture and work team.
• In the past months we trained children and young boys in gender issues and "new masculinities", with the help of an expert, they learned about the importance of recognizing the need of gender equality, to create environments of harmony in all families and the community. Young people are now accompanied in this process of reflection and familiarization.
• In charge of a specialized team, the kids are working on recreational and artistic activities that help them to develop their personal and collective capacities, in addition to strengthening their understanding of their (human) rights and obligations inside and outside the community.
• Project strengthening activities have been carried out, instructing parents on issues such as the positive transformation of conflict, food security, and training for community enterprises, benefiting all family members directly and indirectly.

The road has been arduous and complex, in which each new step has symbolized an approach to change that both, the organization and beneficiaries are seeking to perpetuate. It is due to the direct and indirect participation of the people that we are getting closer to the goal. So, as always:

¡Vamos Caminando!

Xilotl Asociación para el Desarrollo Social A.C. está cumpliendo sus primeros meses de haber iniciado el camino por el sendero del Crowdfunding, así como un par de semanas siendo socia activa de GlobalGiving. Durante este proceso la organización ha logrado llegar a distintas fases antes de alcanzar la meta:

• Hasta el día de hoy, hemos llegando a cientos de niñas, niños y jóvenes dentro de las distintas comunidades a las que acompañamos, realizando actividades que fortalecen su autoestima, el sentido de pertenencia, así como promover los valores, la cultura y el trabajo en equipo.

   

• En los meses pasados capacitamos niños y jóvenes en temas de género y nuevas masculinidades, con ayuda de un experto, ellos aprendieron acerca de la importancia de reconocer la necesidad de igualdad entre los géneros para crear ambientes de armonía en la familia y la comunidad. Se le da acompñamiento a los jóvenes en este proceso de reflexión y familiarización.

• Trabajamos realizando, a cargo de un equipo especializado, actividades recreativas y artísticas que ayudan a los niños y niñas a desarrollar sus capacidades personales y colectivas, además de fortalecer su entendimiento acerca de sus derechos y sus obligaciones dentro y fuera de la comunidad.

• Se han realizado actividades de fortalecimiento del proyecto, instruyendo a madres y padres en temas tales como la trasformación positiva de conflictos y de seguridad alimentaria, y capacitaciones para emprendimientos comunitarios, beneficiando a todos los miembros de la familia directa e indirectamente. 

El camino ha sido arduo y complejo, en el que cada nuevo paso ha simbolizado un acercamiento al cambio que tanto la organización como nuestros y nuestras beneficiarias y beneficiarios buscamos perpetuar. Es debido a la participación directa e indirecta de la gente que vamos logrando acercarnos hacia el objetivo. Así que, como siempre:
