We have not recieved any fund for this project. We have continued to buy water at exorbitant rate. Purchasing water is almost at a very difficult state as the government's removal of fuel subsidy has heaped an untold hardship on the populace. This means that we are now forced to buy water at 4 times the rate at which we had been buying water.
Also our rubber water tanks keep bursting and we keep repairing them at exorbitant rates. Again, the repairs are difficult because of the cost of labour, given the skyrocketting of everything as a result of the same fuel subsidy. We are always in pain on where to get water for cleaning, for flushing toilets, for cooking, and most of all, for drinking. If we are able to build underground tanks as we intended, we would be able to have water year round. As things stand now, we have abundance of water during the rainny season, but we cannot conserve the water. Come dry season, we will be constrained to buy water. We are very much afraid of what will happen then as our students will have great needs of washing hands, flushing the toilet after use etc., but we may not have enough water. Even the simple act of tasking the students to provide money for water might cause some of the students to stop coming to school if it is enforced, as some of the student are ver indigent.
We need funding. Please help us.
