According to the new curriculum by the Kenyan Ministry of Education, six workshops must be built at the school.
So far we have three workshops completed - the Science Lab - the Computer Lab - and the Reading Lab. Just recently the construction of the Tailoring Workshop has begun. We can only go on having it constructed as the funds come in for it. They are coming in a bit slowly, so we need a boost to get up to the second of four construction phases. But the beginning is there and just waiting to get higher and higher.
The tailoring workshop is truly a "must" as a classroom is now being used for sewing the children's mandatory uniforms and other clothing items that sponsors order for their sponsored children. The classroom that is being utilized for this reason will only be available until December because it must then be used as a classroom for the Junior High School class - which is also a part of the new curriculum.
So, we need to get to work raising those funds so that we can get the builders back to work constructing our new workshop!
Asante sana - thank you to all who chip in to make this dream a reality.
