We are so close to reaching the campaign goal

Migrant receiving legal aid by Asylum Access

We want to take advantage of this report to express our gratitute to the 105 donors who have supported this project with a total of $8,761.41. These contributions have been a very important part of making the production of the short documentary film HOT DOGS ON A TRICYCLE possible. As we reported previously, the film has been an important tool for our partner nonprofit Asylum Access to create awareness and rase funds for their legal aid programs in Mexico. This effort has resulted in helping more than 1500 Refugee families in finding safety and accessing their rights to fair work, education and healthcare.

We are only $1,238.59 of reaching the $10,000 project goal. The finish line is so close. Let's make that final effort. If you have not watch HOT DOGS ON A TRICYCLE, dedicate 11 minutes of your time to watch what you made possible and perhaps that can help you decide how much you want to contribute to the final sprint.

Let me start this report by reminding you important information about Home Storytellers.

What we do: We inspire individuals, philanthropic organizations, businesses, and governments to act in support of proven solutions that enable refugees self-reliance.

How we do it: We produce artful character-drive short films to power social impact campaigns.

Refugee self-reliance has been identified as a priority in the 2030 U.N. Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Compact on Refugees. Programs that support self-reliance empower refugees with means to support themselves and their families, allowing them to live with dignity and contribute to the social and economic fabric of their host countries.

Hot Dogs on a Tricycle, the short film production that you supported with your donation has inspired individuals, foundations and business to act in support of the Asylum Access' great programs that are empowering many refugees in Mexico and elsewhere. Mario had to flee El Salvador looking for safety, he received the legal aid, obtained the refugee status from the Mexican government and through Asylum Access' hospitality route has a stable job. Asylum Access has creditted the film for raising $118,000 USD in 7 months and increasing by 8 the cumber of companies joinning the Hospitality route in Mexico. This funds are being used to provide legal aid to many more refugees.

The social impact campaign continues and we expect that significantly more funding will be raised. We will keep you updated. For now we can tell you that every dollar that you invested in the production of Hot Dogs in a Tricycle has translated into four dollars of incremental funding for refugees legal aid. We are proud of having partnered with you to achive this social impact.
