Thanks to your help we are marking the first year of the language program for refugee and migrant children. During this period, our lessons were attended by children who left their countries because of wars, conflicts or systematic violation of human rights. Children who started learning Bulgarian last year now speak Bulgarian and can freely communicate with their peers.
In the last three months we have accepted 22 children from Ukraine. All summer they had Bulgarian lessons to prepare for school. Also, we provided information to their parents about the Bulgarian education system. Our team individually counseled those of them who needed further orientation and advice.
We are currently planning the schedule for the new school year, which will include children who are already studying with us, but also new ones, as we regularly receive requets from parents who are looking for language support for their children.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
