Hi everyone,
This is Clifton here. I hope this message finds you well. I’ve just returned home to the Mission from Tibet, where I spent three weeks enjoying the cool air, and now I’m melting back home in the heat.
I always feel it’s right to start these reports by expressing how incredibly grateful we are for your continued support and belief in our mission to uplift the children and community around us. We couldn’t do this without you.
You’re probably following along with our newsletters, so you likely know that we are excited that our kindergarten construction is nearly complete! We’re deep in the final stages, handling tidy-ups, painting, and installing handrails on the stairs. We've even shifted in a bunch of furniture! The last major task is applying Kota Stone floors throughout the building. This naturally occurring stone from India, similar to marble, should be installed in about two months and will look amazing!
The construction isn't interupting education either as our kids are on school holidays until early July. Summer has arrived with extremely intense heat, sometimes exceeding 120°F (50°C). No one wants to sit in a classroom in that type of weather! Thankfully, we have a swimming pool and some air-conditioned spaces to cool off, though recent power outages have made them less reliable than the shade of a big tree. Despite these challenges, everyone is in good health and enjoying their break.
Of course, holidays wouldn’t be complete without the Summer Games: our month-long series of activities, challenges, adventures, games, and competitions for the kids. We’re doing things a bit differently this year (details coming next week), and we are seeking financial support to sponsor events and trips, such as mountain visits and water parks. Your contributions can help make our eleventh Summer Games another unforgettable experience. We'll share more about this all in next week's newsletter.
Thank you again for your unwavering support. Apologies for this simple update, but there’s loads to catch up on in the office—including a newsletter tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Clifton Shipway
