GIVE THE GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE, October 2023 

Before school started in Iraq on October 1, 2023, ICHOPE provided school supplies to 500 needy children. Items provided included uniforms, shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies.

Our after-school tutoring program, which we started in 2021, opened its doors to 298 children. Most students come to our centers for after-school programming, but some who don't live close to a center are tutored in their homes or in their neighborhoods. We provide general tutoring and enrichment services, as well as specialized tutoring in the areas of greatest need, most reading, writing, and math. 

The ICHOPE tutoring program has grown each year after its inception in 2021. The number of students served in 2021, 2022, and 2023 are as follows:

          In 2021, 110 students attended our program and reached a success rate of 42.4%, progressing to the next grade level.

          In 2022, 183 students attended with an increased success rate of 76.6% progressing to the next grade level.

          In 2023, the number of students attending this program is 298 students, with a projected success rate of 92%.

It is safe to say that ICHOPE's leadership team and staff members have learned as much as the students who come to us for help. Tutors have learned what works and what doesn't work as far as assisting students in achieving more.
