Welcome to Spring! We hope that you are safe and healthy! While we recognize that many of the plans we have made in the past will have to be put off for a bit longer, we are excited to introduce some wonderful new projects to help HOPE serve children and adults with disabilities.
First, since we are unable to resume regular sessions, we have been engaging our participants and volunteers remotely through videos and posts to our WeChat blog, Facebook Page (HOPE Beijing) and newly developed Instagram account (hopebeijing). HOPE Instructor, Lucia has been working hard to develop these videos, and we’ve got to say, she is doing a great job! In the past few weeks, we have increased our Facebook page by 42 likes with 5,475 interactions and have 51 follows on Instagram.
Second, we have been sharing our experiences in China with those in the global Equine Assisted Services (EAS) and nonprofit community. HOPE has a strong foundation through the guidance of our Founder, Dr. Priscilla Lightsey, PT, and the support of the HOPE team. We are thankful to be able to share our experience with others who may benefit from it during this challenging time. Learn more about the “HOPE Bejing - Response to COVID-19” by clicking on the link at the end of the email.
Finally, HOPE is actively pursuing new financial avenues and grants to help us in these challenging times so that we may resume program in the near future. We recently received a microgrant from GlobalGiving as well as raised funds during their matching campaign. We are thankful to our donors and GlobalGiving!
While 2020 didn’t start out as anticipated, HOPE is committed to moving forward and becoming stronger in the process. We thank you for your continued support and dedication to HOPE.
Thank you,
Amy Tripson
