Dear Friend of Sahar,
Thank you for being a donor to our project to train female teachers in Afghanistan! Your contribution helps fill a critical gap of female teachers in the Afghan educational system by training young women to be teachers. Thank you.
The Ministry of Education requires coursework and credentials for educators to teach girls ages 5-22. By donating to this project, you have invested in young women’s independence by helping them achieve this accreditation, granting them financial independence and personal empowerment. But more than that, you have also helped thousands of girls who are denied the opportunity to learn because there are no women to teach them. Many families do not allow their daughters to go to school if there are no female instructors, particularly in rural areas where conservative attitudes are deeply rooted. These 60 future teachers, who you have helped transport to our teacher training center, will impact an estimated 4,500 students a year upon graduation.
Stories from the Afghan girls that Sahar serves do a fantastic job of describing the impact that YOU make possible. Getting a chance to see the challenges the young women face and how they address those challenges is the real testament to what you make possible through your contribution to this project.
Thank you for your contribution and dedication to girls and women’s empowerment in Afghanistan!
Best,
Ginna Brelsford
